PhD Research Student
I completed my undergraduate masters at Loughborough University in Mechanical Engineering having also taken a placement year where I worked at Perkins Diesel Engines.
My PhD Title is Coherent Measurement of Surface Geometry on a Large Scale. The aim of the research will be to use coherence measurements of large engineering surfaces, such as turbine blades, to detect defects in the order of the wavelengths of light. The method proposed for this is aperture synthesis using multiple digital holographic recordings.
The project is sponsored by Taylor Hobson and supervised by Prof Jeremy Coupland.
