PhD Research Student
I am Ashenafi originally from Ethiopia, I got my MSc degree in Solar energy engineering from Dalarna University, Sweden in 2016. I did my thesis (Analysing the Effect of Soiling on the Performance of a PV System) as well as Erasmus outgoing Internship at Institute for Energy Technology (IFE), Kjeller, Norway. In addition, I did an internship at Glava Energy Center (GEC), Arvika, Sweden during the summer of 2015.
Furthermore, I got MSc in Physics from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway in 2012 and from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia in 2007 as well as BEd in Physics from Mekelle University back in 2005.
I also worked as a lecturer at Mekelle University, Mekelle, Ethiopia from 2007-2010 as well as from 2013-2014.
Currently, I am working as a researcher at the Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology (CREST), Loughborough University in the SOLAR-TRAIN project under the supervision of Prof. Ralph Gottschalg, Dr. Tom Betts and Dr. Jiang Zhu.
The research mainly focuses on a combinatory accelerated stress indoor tests to predict the realistic long-term outcome of a PV module in the terrestrial environment.
