Prior to joining the CREST research team, Alastair ran a small PV installation company called Current Generation (2010 onwards) and have previously worked as a project engineer for Photon Energy (2008-2010). This exposed him to the practical aspects of developing renewable projects.

Previous employment included spells at Remotes sensing specialists Infoterra and the Ordnance Survey.

In 2014 he graduated from Loughborough having completed the REST MSc via distance learning. Prior to this he had completed a BSc in Geography in 2004 from the University of Southampton.
