The Wolfson School celebrates gender equality progress as it is awarded Athena SWAN award

Loughborugh Uni

The Wolfson School has been awarded the Bronze Athena SWAN award in recognition and celebration of the achievements which demonstrate progress made in gender equality and inspire actions plans to drive further prospects across the School.

Professor Jenny Harding, Director of Academic Staffing said of the occasion: “It is difficult to put into words the elation that I felt when hearing we had achieved this award. I am tremendously proud of the commitment and teamwork that went into this – everyone in the Department was on board and delivered wonderfully. But on a personal level, I also feel this is a major career and professional milestone. Having worked in the School for over 25 years – initially with only one or two female lecturers – to now be able to look on a huge School with 20 strong and dedicated female academics, representing all staff levels, is simply tremendous.”

This award for the Wolfson School comes as the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences is also awarded an Athena SWAN award. Find out more about Loughborough’s double award win here.
