Rail industry breakthrough technology Repoint featured in new industry report

Loughborough University’s breakthrough railway technology Repoint has been included in a new report by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) looking at putting Britain’s railways back on track.

The report highlights innovative practice and emerging technologies in rail infrastructure and explores how this can increase capacity on UK railways to meet current and future demand. The full report is available to read here.

The award-winning Repoint technology, developed by the University’s Control Systems Group, is a track switch product which has the potential to significantly increase traffic across the UK rail network, provide greater reliability, and lower the carbon footprint of rail travel.
