After completing my BSc in Psychology at the University of Exeter in 2013, I trained as a maths teacher with Teach First. In my four years as a teacher, I worked in Bristol and Chester as a teacher, deputy head of department and mentor for trainee teachers, whilst also completing an MSc in Educational Leadership with the University of Bristol. After that, I joined Ofsted as a statistician, analysing regional schools data, before taking responsibility for Parent View and working with the research and evaluation team.
In September 2019, I began studying at Loughborough University after receiving a 1+3 studentship from the ESRC Midlands Graduate School DTP. My research is on multiplication and division in schoolchildren, using data from the online platform Times Tables Rock Stars. My Masters thesis looked at commutative multiplication facts, using the same data.
