Date of start of studies: 19 January 2019
Supervisors: Ian Jones and Dave Hewitt

My interest in teaching began in 1998 when I joined the Fun Maths Roadshow as part of my undergraduate studies at the University of Liverpool. I then studied the Mathematics in Schools module as part of my Mathematics degree and graduated in 2000. Since then I have taught Mathematics across Key stages 3, 4 and 5 in a variety of schools and colleges, specialising in A level and Further Pure Maths.

I am currently undertaking PhD research under the supervision of Ian Jones and Dave Hewitt, investigating the difficulties students experience when solving equations with particular focus on factorisation and the use of substitution.
