Continuing Professional Development

We are recognised internationally as a centre of excellence in the provision of mathematics support.

Within the Department of Mathematics Education, The Eureka Centre for Mathematical Confidence, provides expertise in mathematical support for students with additional needs, The Eureka Centre specialises in dyscalculia, raising awareness and promoting good practice.

About the CPD courses

These courses have been set up in response to demand for specialist training in supporting dyslexic and dyscalculic students with the mathematical and statistical elements of their Higher Education and Further Education courses.

The CPD courses each address a theme associated with mathematics support for dyslexic/dyscalculic students in FE/HE. The courses are independent of each other and participants can book one course or more.

The courses are aimed at Mathematics, Science and Engineering graduates wishing to teach students with Specific Learning Differences (SpLDs) and specialist teachers who are involved in supporting students with SpLDs with study skills in Mathematics. The CPD days aim to ensure that both groups have the opportunity to discuss and share expertise.
