Annual Conference of Mathematics Research Students
The annual conference of Mathematics Research Students in Loughborough has been held since 2005. The Sir David Wallace Prize of £250 is awarded annually for the best presentation by a panel consisting of several members of staff and research students' representatives.

The 14th Annual Conference of Mathematics Research Students was held at Loughborough University on Thursday 30 May 2018.
The 2018 Sir David Wallace Prize was awarded to Norbert Pintye (Supervisor: Artie Prendergast-Smith) for his talk entitled `Geometry of blown-up spaces’.
The judging panel consisted of Hamid Ahmadinezhad, Ricardo Barros, Jenya Ferapontov, Matt Tranter (last years’ winner) and research students attending the conference (Hayder Al-Saedi, Sobhi Berjawi, Tim Grange, Tiago Guerreiro, Ronan Kerr, Luis José Santana Sánchez).

The 2017 Sir David Wallace Prize was awarded to Matthew Tranter (Supervisor: Dr Karima Khusnutdinova) for his talk entitled 'On pure and radiating solitons in delaminated structures'.
The judging panel consisted of Ricardo Barros, Jenya Ferapontov and research students attending the conference (Hayder Al-Saedi, Yan Luo, Morgan Walters, Yiru Ye).

The 2015 Sir David Wallace Prize was awarded to Andrea Savoldi (Supervisors: Jenya Ferapontov and Paolo Lorenzoni, Milano-Bicocca)for his talk entitled `Hamiltonian operators and differential geometry’.
This decision was reached by the judging panel consisting of Wael Bahsoun, Jenya Ferapontov, Maureen McIver and William Haese-Hill (last year’s winner).

The joint winners of the 2013 Sir David Wallace Prize were Zainab Al-Tooq (Supervisor: Steven Kenny) for her talk entitled `Modelling radiation damage in fcc Ni with relation to the experimental results and Michael Bironneau (Supervisor: Alexander Strohmaier) for his talk `Computational aspects of spectral invariants on Euclidean domains’
This decision was reached by the judging panel consisting of Wael Bahsoun, Jenya Ferapontov, Eugenie Hunsicker, Maureen McIver and research students’ representatives, Ilia Roustemoglou and Tomas Lazauskas.
