PhD Topic/Title: Internationalising UK Students through Migrant Academic Staff
Funded by the Higher Education Academy, my research examines the experiences of migrant academic staff in transferring international ideas and academic practices to students at UK universities. It seeks to build upon wider debates in geography about the mobility of knowledge, global academic talent and the benefits and challenges of internationalising higher education. Geographers have contributed important work to understanding the production and circulation of knowledge through transnational mobility of researchers and academics. Yet, crucially, little is known about knowledge transfer in the context of learning and teaching in higher education from the differentiated perspective of non-UK academics.
