Academic wins AAAM award

Based in the United States, The Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM) is a professional interdisciplinary organisation which has dedicated itself to motor vehicle crash injury prevention and control since 1957.

The Donald F. Huelke Lifetime award has been presented at its annual conference since 2011. The award is given to recognise and acknowledge individuals for their service and achievements in the field of road safety over many years. This year, the award was given to Richard Frampton from Loughbrough Design, in a ceremony at the Casino De Madrid, in Madrid, Spain. Richard has worked in the field, in both academic and industry settings for over 30 years and been a member of the AAAM since 1993.

Richard commented after receiving the award “I am honoured and humbled to be the first European to receive this prestigious peer award. I hadn’t realised the years had gone by so quickly”.

The photo shows Richard receiving his award from Professor Frank Pintar of the Medical College of Wisconsin and Marquette University at the AAAM awards dinner in October. Professor Pintar was the previous recipient of the award and a AAAM past president.

Congratulations Richard.
