PhD Summer Showcase
Earlier in the month the Doctoral College hosted their Summer Showcase event.
This annual event is an opportunity for Loughborough University and Loughborough University London Doctoral Researchers to share their research and network with others from a wide range of Schools, Departments and Professional Services.
Many Design School students took part in the event. Congratulations to Nicholas Johnson, supervised by George Torrens and Ian Storer - Runner Up in the Poster Competition from over 70 entrants with his topic for “It’s Got To Be...Eye-Catching: Design for Attention & Preference”. Congratulations also to Alexander Kunze, supervised by Steve Summerskill and Russ Marshall, who competed in the Three Minute Thesis competition. The ten entrants had to explain their doctoral research in just three minutes with just one static slide – Alex’s topic was “Do You Trust Me? Facilitating Human-Automation Interaction”
Overall a great day for networking and highlighting the research work being undertaken
