Loughborough Design School research fellows nominated for Loughborough University Enterprise Awards

Two Loughborough Design School research fellows: Ruth Welsh and James Lenard have been nominated for the university Enterprise Awards.

The Loughborough University Enterprise Awards are comprised of four categories: Impact from research, One to watch, Graduate enterprise and Student placement.

The awards scheme was set up to recognise the best entrepreneurial and enterprising academics, undergraduates or postgraduates, who continue to find new and exciting solutions to problems or create a positive impact on everyday life.

Two members of our design school staff have been nominated for awards; Ruth Welsh and James Lenard for their work on ‘protecting cyclists by improving car safety technology’.

Building upon existing Loughborough research, their analysis of road accident data identifies the circumstances of common incidents involving cars and pedal cyclists.

You can vote for Ruth and James’ research project here before voting closes on 15th May.

We wish all the candidates the best of luck during the course of the awards.
