PhD Student

Matthew is British born but spent his formative years in France. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Brunel University, Uxbridge, London and graduated with a BSc Hon. in Product Design with Professional Practice (1st Class) which included a placement year at Philips.

He then proceeded to spend a year as a product designer before undertaking a postgraduate degree at Goldsmiths, London and was awarded a MA in Interaction Design in late 2017.

Matthew joined Loughborough Design School in January 2018 as a postgraduate researcher. His PhD seeks to investigate the use of embedded sensors in mobile/wearable devices to provide customised navigation support and enhanced digital maps through crowdsourced information. The PhD is in collaboration with Loughborough Design School, ESPRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Embedded Intelligence (CDT-EI) and Ordnance Survey.
