Innovation & Development Associate in Intelligent Mobility

Gema is a research and technology professional with a PhD focused in Engineering from the University of Leicester. Currently, she is working as Innovation and Development Associate in Smart Mobility at the School of Design, she is contributing to the development of Intelligent Mobility initiatives and supporting the implementation of the Smart Mobility Living Lab in London (SMLL).

Gema has accumulated experience as project manager and coordinator in many areas including Intelligent Mobility, Systems Engineering and Automotive Engineering. Previously she worked as Project and Events Manager for IMPART, The Intelligent Mobility Partnership at DMU with Transport Systems Catapult, Coventry, Nottingham Trent and Loughborough Universities. She coordinated all the activity on behalf of the partnership which included conferences and workshops to discuss technological developments in connected autonomous vehicles, communication networks for transport systems, mobility as a service, and transport safety. Her previous experience at Loughborough University includes the role of project coordinator and research associate for research in the refinement of IC engines in The Encyclopaedic Project in the Dynamics Research Group, and also the role of project coordinator and research associate of Systems-NET forming collaboration networks for application domains in systems engineering in the Advanced VR Research Centre. Gema has a history of working in the higher education industry with skills in management, network development and multidisciplinary research.
