Computer Science student Ben Abbott to perform at this year's Music Scholarship Concert

Each year Loughborough University's Music Scholarship recognises students who prove themselves to be exceptionally talented and passionate about their chosen instrument. Students receive £500 to spend on improving their skills and get to perform in the annual Music Scholarship Concert.

One of this year's winners is Computer Science student Ben Abbott - a talented euphoniumist - who will play a selection of pieces, including Rimsky-Korsakov's 'Flight of the Bumblebee' and Evelyn Glennie's 'A Little Prayer', at a special concert on Wednesday 9th May in the Cope Auditorium.

Any students who demonstrate musical flair can be considered for the Music Scholarship. The annual award of £500 is given to up to three of the University's most talented musicians following a process of application and audition.

The Music Scholarship concert starts at 1.00pm on 9th May and is free to attend. Please contact for further details, or visit the LU Arts website

We hope you will join us in congratulating Ben on his success.
