Date of start of studies 1 October 2014 Supervisors Dr Mark Platt and Dr Steve Christie

After originally coming to university to study Art, I transferred onto the MChem course here at Loughborough University and developed a great interest in colour science, dyes and UV-visible spectroscopy. My two undergraduate projects studied the spectral and electrochemical behaviour of electrochromic and photochromic systems, with a goal to aid the development of advanced functional dye technologies.

Following this, I am now undertaking the design of self-contained, 3D-printed, highly controlled flow reactors for uniform nanoparticle synthesis. I am one of five PhD students in the ‘SMART’ (Synthesis of Molecules by Advanced Reactor Technology) mini-CDT research group.
