International experts and stakeholders, including leaders in the NHS, police, military and ambulance service, attended the Loughborough University TOXI-Triage research showcase in London on 26th June. The TOXI-Triage project will revolutionise the way emergency services tackle chemical, biological, radioactive, or nuclear (CBRN) incidents.

The TOXI-Triage project, led by Loughborough University's Professor Paul Thomas, brings together academics, emergency responders and industry partners from across Europe.

Forensic examiners are in danger of missing evidence in low-light environments if their vision has not fully adapted to the dark, a new Loughborough University study has found. The researchers found that people misread letters and numbers and missed other pieces of information when asked to identify fluorescent marks in a dark room.

A largescale field trial in Finland will test new technologies aimed at saving lives during mass casualty chemical, biological, radioactive or nuclear (CBRN) incidents. The technologies and systems have been developed as part of the Loughborough-led TOXI-Triage project.

Loughborough University’s STEMLab has been announced as a winner at the S-Lab Awards for Excellence in Laboratory Design, Management and Operation. Pro Vice-Chancellor for Teaching, Professor Rachel Thomson, collected the award for the building which opened in 2017. STEMLab won the Multi-Disciplinary Science Teaching and Research Buildings category.
