Dr Jin Xuan named as one of 2018’s top innovators!

Loughborough Chemical Engineering is on the shortlist for the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Innovation Awards 2018.
Senior Lecturer Dr Jin Xuan has been announced as a finalist by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) for their 2018 Innovation Awards.
Chosen from over 350 entries, Jin was shortlisted in both ‘Power and Energy’ and ‘Young Innovators’ categories of the award in recognition of his innovation; SOLO, a novel photoelectrochemical device with potential breakthrough in the energy efficiency of solar fuel production. The SOLO project is supported by an EPSRC Grant, of which Dr Jin Xuan is the principal investigator.
Dr Xuan will join other finalists in London on 14th November, at a prestigious awards dinner and ceremony at The Brewery in London. The host for the evening will be the comedy actor and writer Sally Phillips, who will announce the winners.
Dr Valerie Pinfield, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University had this to say in regard to Dr Xuan’s achievement:
