Alumnus looks to Loughborough family to drive forward F1 ambition

Jason Lee has beaten over 7,000 applicants to the shortlist for a position with a top Formula 1 team.
The 2018 MEng Chemical Engineering graduate is one of just 10 to make it to the third stage of screening for the position of Petronas Trackside Fluid Engineer with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team.
The selection process is now down to a video voting stage. The public can vote for their favourite candidate based on a one-minute video from each candidate where they answer questions from Mercedes F1 driver, Valtteri Bottas.
Petronas is a Malaysian fuel company which partnered with Mercedes in 2010. The Mercedes-AMG Petronas team, based in Northamptonshire, is the team of British F1 driver Lewis Hamilton and has won both the Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championships every year since 2014.
You can vote for Jason using ‘#PTFEJason’ online. Voting closes at 9am on Sunday, November 25 2018.
The Department of Chemical Engineering wish Jason the best of luck with his application.
