How to apply
Entry requirements: A good undergraduate degree and masters level qualification, or equivalent experience, is expected.
Initial enquiries should be addressed either directly to the academic member of staff most aligned to your research. Alternatively you can contact Emma Nadin who will be happy to answer queries concerning the application process.
Research proposal: The proposal should be approximately 2,000 words and include a provisional title, the question that forms the core of the enquiry, the scope of the topic, outline of the methods, approach and theory to be adopted, relationship to current research and literature in the field, and a provisional timetable. If you are practice-based, then you need to supply a portfolio of your work as a PDF document or web link with the application.
During the developement of your proposal you can, if you choose, liaise with the relevant academic staff member. They will advise on the suitability of the research question. Once you have completed your research proposal you can apply online here.
As part of the application process, you willl need to provide supporting documents. Once we recieve your application, as long as all the rquired documentation is attached, we will review your application. If we are able to support your research, you will be contacted and invited to undertake an interview, either face to face or via skype.
We will contact referees once an offer has been made.
