Lecturer's literary blog cited by popular BBC TV show

The blog 'Interesting Literature', founded and run by Lecturer in English Dr Oliver Tearle, has been cited as the source for several facts in the new book '1,234 QI Facts to Leave You Speechless', written by the makers of the hit BBC TV series QI, currently hosted by Stephen Fry.

The researchers behind the show, and its founder John Lloyd, have long been fans of Tearle's blog, which he set up in 2012 as a way of sharing his literary research with a wider audience. In their 2014 book, '1,441 QI Facts to Knock You Sideways', they listed Tearle as their source for several facts on literature- and language-related topics.

Subtitled 'A Library of Literary Interestingness', Tearle's blog attracts over 50,000 visitors every month and has spawned a successful Twitter feed, which has over 100,000 followers including the Oxford English Dictionary, the British Library, numerous high-profile authors, academics, and journalists - and, of course, the people behind QI.
