Overton Poetry Prize Launch: UPROOT by Pnina Shinebourne

About this event

In memory of Professor Bill Overton (1946-2012), the School of the Arts, English and Drama at Loughborough University offers the Overton Poetry Prize for a sequence of poems on any subject, up to 300 lines. Each year, the winning entry is published in chapbook form and, as a result, we're pleased to be able to invite you to the official launch of the 2017 prize-winning collection: UPROOT by Pnina Shinebourne.

As part of this event, there will be live poetry readings from students and staff, Birmingham-based poet and judge of the competition, Helen Calcutt, and Pnina will launch her chapbook with readings from the work itself.

There will be an opportunity for you to purchase signed copies of the pamphlet and a range of creative arts organisations (LU Arts, The Student Wordsmith and Lamplight Press) based here on campus will be there to talk about their activities during the refreshment breaks.
