Arts Degree Show2015

Through my work I have been exploring the world of interior design, for this project I wanted to create a collection of bar stools to be used in a domestic kitchen. I am interested in the minimalism movement, upcycling and organic forms. Through using a combination of these interests I hope to be able to create unique pieces that would still be suitable for a modern home. I intend to work with metal, as I like the industrial aesthetic of this material.

During my time at Loughborough University I have been developing my craft skills and have designed interior items from lighting to ceramic kitchen pieces to furniture. I hope to progress this further once leaving university as interiors interest me greatly. Everything I design is known for having soft, flowing forms that juxtapose against the hard materials used, such as metal and ceramic. This concept has interested me for many years as it creates something unique for the user.
