Sarah Warner

Taking inspiration from the natural landscapes I’d visited whilst growing up, my paintings explore the combination of texture, mark making, movement of paint and composition. Through the consideration of scale, my work encapsulates the feeling of being surrounded by the natural landscape and completely immersed in it. My paintings strive to recreate the intimacy of standing alone and looking to the horizon into the beyond, whilst at the same time exposing the harshness and immensity of the natural world. The quick brush strokes and chaotic marks, for example, represent the howling winds that surround you when walking through the wild landscapes of the British Isles.
