“Perception (over and above vision by itself) is one of the most vital fields of inquiry in the modern society of colour” – Faber Birren

My practice reviews the effect colour has on the subconscious response of a viewer. The aesthetic features encompassing artworks, and their stimulation of the mind influences me. My work proposes to reflect on the association of colour on emotion, and I intend to identify how colour is used to drive perception, through the practice of abstract expressionism.

This is executed through projections of stimulating colours. As a consequence of projecting art, the environment becomes part of the work. Using both art and the environment, I explore how the pieces differed in acquiring visually pleasing results.
