Revolutionising design planning and management

  • Since 2008 projects valued at £20bn have been improved using the ADePT method

Loughborough research led to the development of the ADePT method. A specially created spin-out business has applied ADePT on projects for the majority of the UK’s top construction contractors and international clients, providing higher levels of cost and time certainty, fewer delays and less waste due to improved design management.

In the early 1990s our researchers recognised inadequate methods were creating significant delays and costly rework in most projects. They developed a novel approach to mapping and optimising iterative design processes, the ADePT method.

ADePT enables multi-disciplinary teams to agree design compromises, reduce risk and create a sophisticated design plan integrated with construction/manufacturing, enabling measurable and auditable control of any complex project, such as those in engineering industries.
