2019 - Biggest Placement and Careers Fair for Engineering Here at Loughborough!

CAT x 670

On Wednesday 9th October, 80 companies visited Loughborough University to show students placement and careers opportunities available across the breadth of the engineering industry.

The Engineering Placements and Careers Fair attracted more than 1000 students from across all engineering disciplines at Loughborough and is the biggest engineering and placements fair in the UK.

As well as stands provided by industry, some companies undertook presentations to students including; Cummins; BRUSH; Triumph; Rolls-Royce Plc; Lubrizol; and; Severn Trent, which were very well received.

There were so many companies involved that it would be impossible to list them all here, but of note was Caterpillar, (top image), who brought a CAT Simulator, WES (Women in Engineering Society) and Triumph, who brought a motorcycle that attracted lots of students to their stand and hopefully to their placements and company in the future!

This was the third placement event coordinated between the School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering (AACME) and the Wolfson School at Loughborough University.

This year the organisers introduced an App to the event – The Careers Fair App, which was also well received by students.

If you are a current student or a student who is considering engineering at Loughborough University, each of our placement pages are linked to below for the School of AACME.
