Miguel, pictured left, is undertaking his Aeronautical Engineering PhD with the brand new National Centre for Combustion and Aerothermal Technology (NCCAT.)  NCCAT is funded through a partnership comprising the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) and Innovate UK, with support from Rolls-Royce plc and Loughborough University.

Miguel’s talk on his PhD work was entitled: “An LES-Acoustic Coupling Method for Sound Generation Analysis and High Order Propagation from Turbulent Jets”.

Miguel had this to say in response to receiving the award:

"It was an honour to receive this award given by the UK Turbulence Consortium, especially at the final stage of my PhD and as a recognition of part of the work that we are currently doing at the UTC in terms of jet noise analysis."

The School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering offers their congratulations to Miguel and we look forward to hearing about his future achievements!
