As part of the 2023 Leicester Comedy Festival We welcome some of the finest stand ups on the scene for your Monday night laughing pleasure.

Monday is Funday at Loughborough Students' Union!

Featuring the most excellent and downright funny comedy delights of Adele Cliff, Tadiwa Mahlunge, Dom Hatton-Woods and all held together by your host and MC Jack Gleadow!

Adele Cliff

Adele is the reigning/pundisputed UK Pun Champion (2020), the first woman to win the title and she is the only person to be named amongst Dave’s Funniest Jokes of the Fringe four years running (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019). An accomplished joke writer Adele has also featured in best jokes lists in The Telegraph, The Evening Standard, The Irish Times, The i Newspaper and The Metro as well as being nominated for Leicestershire’s Favourite Joke in 2019.

Adele has provided tour support for Milton Jones and twice been names one of Funny Women’s One’s to Watch. She has gigged internationally in Australia, at the Adelaide Fringe 2020, and in the USA at clubs in Chicago and New York, including The Laugh Factory, Zainies, The New York Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club and The Second City where she also trained in improv and sketch writing.

Tadiwa Mahlunge

Billed as “one of the country's top new comedy acts” by The York Press, Tadiwa Mahlunge has performed at, among others, the Latitude, Greenman, and Greenwich Comedy Festivals - alongside the biggest names in comedy - and has provided tour support for Kiri Pritchard-McLean and Jessica Fostekew, and TV warm up for Desiree Birch’s Amazon Prime special.

As seen on BBC 1, BBC 2, BBC Sesh, Dave, Comedy Central, UTV, Comic Relief and heard on BBC Radio Wales and BBC Sounds - Tadiwa Mahlunge has established himself as one of comedy’s hottest prospects. As such, he has been selected for the 2022 Pleasance Reserve.

Dom Hatton-Woods

Rising star Dom Hatton-Woods is a rare breed of comedian, talented both on stage and also highly successful online, providing regular content for online dating app Bumble and drinks company Hooch. His Tik Tok posts often hit the 2 million viewers mark as he continues to create hilarious content on a daily basis.

On stage, Dom has provided tour support for Tom Stade, Jamali Maddix and Daliso Chaponda and is a regular at many of the major UK clubs.

Jack Gleadow

Jack Gleadow is an award winning ‘one man comedy variety show’ from Hull.  His show includes sounds, funny stories, jokes and sometimes even a scooter and takes homage to the golden era of variety.  Gleadow recently took home the prestigious title of Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2018. The competition has a star making formula as previous winners include Josh Widecombe, Jason Manford, Jonny Vegas & Romesh Ranganathan. Other recent awards under his belt include Great Yorkshire Fringe Comedian of the Year &  Amused Moose National New Comic . This new rising star in comedy travels all over the UK to perform, including the Latitude festival Comedy Stage and recent tour support for Lloyd Griffith.

Age guidance: 16 and Above (16+).

Doors open 7.10pm, performance starts 7.30pm.

Free tickets for current Loughborough University students only can be booked via this page. You will need to show your student ID on the door. General admission (paid) tickets should be booked via the Comedy Festival website.
