Student art grants

Do you have an idea for a fabulous arts-related activity but need funding to make it happen? Would you love to see more arts activity in your hall or department? Would you like to see your society develop more activity or work with professional artists? If the answer is yes, LU Arts can provide you with the funds and support to help you take forward your ideas.

Our student arts grants support the delivery of arts activity across the two campuses and are open to all taught and research students studying at Loughborough University and Loughborough University London.

LU Arts has a budget of £3000 to put towards student grant applications. Once this has been allocated we will be unable to consider any further requests for funding. The aim of the grants is to extend arts activity at Loughborough University and give more students the opportunity to engage with the arts as a participant or audience member. We will not fund equipment or travel for individuals or work that forms part of a taught or research curriculum activity.

In addition to funding, LU Arts will provide successful applicants with support in delivering and marketing their events. You will gain valuable, transferable skills as part of this process.

Some of the things we would consider funding are:

Society grants

Funding is available to LSU Student Societies to deliver arts activity. It is open to all societies, not just arts-related ones, but the activity itself must be creative or arts-related. This could include workshops, trips, events, collaborations or talks.

Hall and Department grants

Would you like to develop an arts related activity in your hall or department? Funding from LU Arts can help support events that could contribute to your hall or department becoming the hall or department of the year. This could include:

  • Arts activity as part of a welfare week
  • Open mic or talent contests
  • Workshops or Talks
  • Trips to galleries or theatres

Apply for a student arts grant

We will happily listen to your initial ideas either by email or in person and we will provide feedback to those who were not successful. Please get in touch via LUArts@lboro.ac.uk if you would like to discuss an idea.

Once you have finalised your idea, download the application form below and email your completed form to LUArts@lboro.ac.uk. Your application will then be assessed by a panel from LU Arts.

There is no deadline for applications but there is a limited amount available for student grants and once this has been used there will be no funding available until the following academic year.
