Margaret Dawson

I love my location because... this photo is from Colca Canyon, a 4 hour drive from Arequipa. It is one of the deepest canyons in the world and to get there you pass through high Andean passes, one even higher than Mt Blanc, where llamas and alpacas roam free and vicuñas have their own protected reserves. The canyon has great hiking trails but for me an even bigger attraction is to watch the majestic Andean condors sweeping through ravines and calling out to each other with their strong, distinct whistle.
