When alumnus Krish Parmar left Loughborough in 2019, he landed a role as a Product Development Technologist for Britvic Soft Drinks.

Krish, who has a MEng degree in Chemical Engineering, was given responsibility for project managing new product developments when he joined the team at Britvic.

Working with some of the UKs biggest brands, Krish has been involved with the creation, scale-up, and implementation of two new drinks – Tango Dark Berry and Robinson’s Double Concentrate Blackcurrant.

Project manging for 12 months, Krish started out in the development laboratory, working on ingredients that would taste great and would stand-out for the two respective brands. Using technical knowledge from his degree studies, Krish ensured scale-up from laboratory to full commercial scale went to plan.

He said:

“The end of the project was the most gratifying when seeing the drinks come off the lines in the factory for the first time and then seeing them on shelf in shops up and down the country.”

In addition to his work as a technical project manager and liquid developer, the alumnus has developed and delivered training for Pilot Plant Ways of Working (trail process) and Scalability. He is an ambassador for the B-Diverse network, and he also speaks at STEM events to inspire secondary school students.
