Queuing a thing of the past for FanGo users

Alumnus Greg Usher teamed up with best friend Joe Gateshill to create a solution to queueing at events.

Greg, Managing Director of FanGo Ltd, graduated from Loughborough with a master’s degree in Sports Management in 2017. He followed in the footsteps of his late father Ivan Usher who studied at Loughborough in the 1950s.

Whilst studying at Loughborough, Greg attended a concert and queued for around one hour for drinks. Greg and Joe discussed ways that this process could be improved and came up with a concept to allow people to pre-order refreshments online ahead of or during an event.

Following research and development, the pair formed FanGo Ltd. in 2017 and employed Jae Park and Mischa Gabre, two of Greg’s Sport Management course mates. Jae is the Media Executive, and Mischa is the Operations Manager.

The software was launched in the summer of 2018, with the University of Glasgow becoming FanGo’s first client.

The system can be tailored to any venue selling refreshments and FanGo offer a customisable and flexible platform for clients.

Users see the system via the clients’ website, and they are provided with a seamless user-journey when ordering and paying for refreshments.

Clients can access a real-time dashboard with automated financial, operational, and sales reports, as well as alerts when orders are placed. Staff using the system can keep track of everything from sales targets to allergens, and have control over event creation, edits to menus and pricing, and booking management. They can also use the software to run promotional campaigns.

Since launching the software in 2018, FanGo is used by venues such as The Celtic Manor Resort, The Grand Brighton Hotel, and The International Convention Centre Wales. Hundreds of thousands of tickets have been sold via the system in the last three years, and millions of pounds have been processed.
