Eight alumnae awarded Central Contracts by England and Wales Cricket Board

This week the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the England Women Central Contracts for 2021-22. Seventeen contracts have been awarded, with almost half of the women affiliated with Loughborough.

Sophia Dunkley (South East Stars), who graduated from Loughborough College with a BSc in Applied Sports Science (Management) just last year, has received her first England Women’s Central Contract.

She is joined by:

Georgia Elwiss (Southern Vipers), BSc Sports Science with Management 2015

Anya Shrubsole MBE (Western Storm), BSc Psychology 2015 

Fran Wilson (Sunrisers), MSc Sport and Exercise Nutrition 2015

Lauren Winfield-Hill (Northern Diamonds), Loughborough College BSc Applied Sports Science 2014

The contracts run from 1 May 2021 to 31 October 2022 in alignment with the professional contracts at regional level.

In addition, Nat Sciver has been named as the new Vice-Captain for the squad.

England Cricket has also announced the squad for the upcoming LV= Insurance Test match against India, which starts on 16 June.

Joining the eight contracted alumnae for the Test is Tash Farrant (South East Stars), who graduated from Loughborough in 2019 with a BSc in Sports Science With Management.
