Loughborough alumni share special messages with the winter Class of 2020

Alumni from around the world have shared special messages to congratulate our winter graduates. From Nigeria to Hong Kong, and France to Trinidad and Tobago, alumni have shared why they stay in touch with Loughborough, how they connect with fellow alumni in their countries, and have shared some top tips along the way.

It has been an exceptionally difficult year for everyone, not least for those who have completed degrees in recent months.

With restrictions and social distancing still in place, graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2020 are postponed. Thankfully the Loughborough family can always be relied on and have been helping graduates to celebrate.

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robert Allison, has also shared a message as part of this celebratory video.

The video features Alumni Advisory Board members Yasamin Fozouni (United States of America, BEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering 2014), Margaret Eyres (France, BSc Banking and Finance 1981) and Guy Broadbent (United States of America, BSc Chemistry with Polymer Science/Technology 1986).

Representing the Hong Kong alumni group, Patrick (BEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering 1993) and Jonathan Povey (BSc Geography 2006) have shared insight into their alumni activities, whilst alumnus Kearn Williams (MA Media and Creative Industries 2018) has shared a message from Trinidad and Tobago.

Joining them are Dr Paul Oluikpe (Nigeria, MSc Information and Knowledge Management 2003 and PhD Civil Engineering 2007), Flt Lt. Jon Bond (UK, BSc Air Transport Management 2005 and MSc Transport Policy and Business Management 2006) and Winnie Chi (People's Republic of China, MA 2D & 3D Visualisation 2012).

Alumnus Mike Wedderburn (UK, MSc Sports Science 1989), who hosted the summer Class of 2020 show, has filmed his message from the Sky Sports studios in London.

In addition to the celebratory video, the Class of 2020 are asked to share photographs of their celebrations for a chance to win a Loughborough-themed prize.
