Alumnus seeks stories about on the band “Faces” performing in Loughborough
Richard Houghton is currently writing a book on British band, Faces, and is aiming to track down people who saw the rockers perform at the University.
The alumnus is looking to hear from anyone who saw the band, who included lead singer Rod Stewart and guitarist Ronnie Wood, in the Edward Herbert Building in 1971 and would be willing to contribute a memory to his ‘people’s history’ of Faces, telling their story in the words of fans.
Richard, who graduated with a degree in English in 1981, has also compiled several similar books on The Beatles, The Who and The Rolling Stones.
“I was not quite old enough to see the Faces, who stopped performing in 1975 when Rod Stewart went on to forge a successful solo career and Ronnie Wood joined The Rolling Stones. But their live performances were legendary for bonhomie and musicianship so I'd be delighted to hear from anyone who saw them perform at the Edward Herbert Building.”
Please get in touch if you would like to contribute.
