Alumnus returns to campus for Q&A with students

Andy Hodge returned to campus this week to take part in a Q&A session with students, discussing his role as UK Managing Partner of Tax at Deloitte (2011-2016), with tips on how to build a successful career.

The alumnus began his professional career in 1987 with Andersen, where he focused on expatriate tax. After 6 years he relocated to the Birmingham office to build and lead the expat part of the business. He became a partner and in 2002 arrived at Deloitte when the firm combined with Andersen’s UK operation.

Andy held one of the most senior roles in the ‘big four’ firms, leading a team of over 2,500 and holding responsibility for strategy and performance of the UK tax practice.

The alumnus, who graduated with a degree in Economics in 1987, moved into consultancy in 2016 and now runs his own business.

Andy answered a range of questions from the students, including on working at Deloitte, advice on leadership, building professional rapports and interview guidance.

Thank you to Andy for volunteering his time.
