Alumni aid the return of events with free track-and-trace app
Joel Kelly and Stuart Moffat discovered their passion for live events while studying at Loughborough.
Joel founded eve, a software and insurance start-up after completing his degree, while Stuart joined as a contractor a few years later. Since then the company has grown, with teams now based in London and Munich.
eve supports event professionals by simplifying and automating event planning and management workflows while providing proactive insurance solutions to mitigate risk. However, during the pandemic, with no indication of when events would return, Joel and his team decided to shift focus to build a product that would help businesses reopen and hopefully aid in the return of events. As Munich emerged from lockdown, evePASS was born and the application went live in some of the largest and most influential restaurants in the city.
evePASS currently has over 1 million users across more than 20 countries. The app is free for businesses and users, assisting with the track and trace efforts of the NHS and supporting public safety.
The team has secured additional funding for the project and has plans to continue improving the product and expanding into additional markets where track and trace is deemed appropriate.
