Alumna adds “My Mummy is a Footballer” to series of inspirational children’s books
Kerrine Bryan has written her latest book which aims to encourage children to see that their ambitions are not limited by gender.
This is the eighth book to be co-written by Kerrine and her brother Jason. Other titles include My Mummy is a Scientist and My Daddy is a Nurse. Kerrine has found that children’s books are an excellent tool to communicate positive messages about various professions that can suffer from diversity issues.
As an electrical engineer, Kerrine remembers the misconceptions and lack of knowledge about engineering as a profession when she was at school.
She hopes that children will understand that many jobs are available to them and that a child’s background and gender should not be a barrier if they work hard and apply themselves.
Kerrine, who graduated with an MBA in 2010, has set up a crowdfunding page to help raise the funds for this latest book to be published.
