A message to our alumni
We hope that you are all keeping safe and well. We would like to offer our best wishes to alumni all over the world as we face the challenges presented to us as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
We know that many of our alumni will still be heading out to work, especially those of you in public health, safety, research and retail professions. We thank you for your commitment at this difficult time.
In line with Government advice, the University has seen many changes over the last few weeks. All details of the University’s response to the pandemic can be found online.
Colleagues across the University are doing everything they can to keep operations running as smoothly as possible.
The University has suspended all face-to-face teaching and is operating a very minimal service on campus, supporting those students who need to stay on site. Students can stay in halls where they need to, and catering is available.
Thanks to much hard work by academic staff, students are learning remotely and have access to online lectures and resources, as well as alterations to their assessments taking place after the Easter break. Our students have access to a range of resources to support them as they study from home including support with careers, mental health and wellbeing.
Staff members have been supporting the local community and the country by providing vital resources and research expertise during the pandemic – you can read more about this in the newsletter.
We have also launched a crowdfunding appeal to offer further financial support to those students who need it the most – whether that is due to losing a job, not being able to rely on family support, or being unable to return home.
We are also interested in seeing how alumni are supporting the community, how we could support you by raising the profile of your business and if we can link alumni up for teaching support. Find out more about this "Supporting the #LboroFamily".
The team are working from home, but we are still contactable and would be pleased to hear from you.
