Three inspirational alumni recognised by the School of Business and Economics
On 7 March 2019, the School of Business and Economics (SBE) held their annual awards evening, which recognised the achievements of three alumni.
Alumni Paul Holohan, Andrew King and Michael Tye (pictured left to right) were all given an SBE Distinguished Alumni Award for their respective areas of work.
Paul Holohan graduated in 1996 with an MBA. He has over 30 years’ experience in the Printing and Packaging industry at CEO and Managing Director level. Paul formed Richmond Capital Partners, a specialist M&A firm specialising in the printing and packaging industry in 2000. He has written numerous academic papers, press releases for various media and presented at several conferences, seminars and universities. Paul is also a member of the SBE Strategic Advisory Board.
Andrew King graduated from Loughborough with an MBA in 2005. He is a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) specialist who has 18 years’ board level experience in the drinks industry. He has been the CEO of four food and drink businesses, and he holds several non-executive board roles. Most recently, Andrew has been working for Funkin Ltd where he is the Executive Chairman. He is also a director of a local community charity, Long Clawson Recreation Ground Limited.
Mike Tye is a 1976 Management Sciences graduate. He has spent over 40 years in consumer business across roles in FMCG, and retail and hospitality industries. He spent 20 years at Whitbread, enjoying spells as Managing Director of Costa Coffee, Premier Inn and David Lloyd Leisure. More recently, he worked as the CEO of Spirit Plc, which grew rapidly from 2011 and was sold in 2015. He has since been focusing on non-executive director roles and is currently Chairman of Moto Hospitality Group and Haulfryn Group, Vice Chair of Prostate Cancer UK, and non-exec director of TRG Plc.
