Robbie brings sports enterprise experience to campus
Professional footballer and entrepreneur, Robbie Simpson, visited the Loughborough campus on Tuesday to take part in a panel event on sports entrepreneurship.
The event was held by the University in conjunction with The Times. Megan Agnew, The Sunday Times Magazine Journalist, led the panel which gave students the opportunity to hear from high profile speakers.
Joining Robbie on the panel was Alice Living, a health and wellbeing influencer and Alex Paske, Founder of the Mintridge Foundation.
The panellists discussed the idea of turning passion into a business and how to find success, with a sporting theme.
Robbie, who is the Founder of Life After Professional Sport (LAPS), did just that. As a footballer for MK Dons, Robbie is keen to help fellow sportspeople to find new careers and opportunities once they retire from professional sport.
Students were keen to meet the footballer after the session, following the recent promotion of MK Dons to League One.
Alumnus Robbie graduated from Loughborough in 2007 with a degree in Sports Science And Mathematics.
Thank you to Robbie for contributing to the event.
