Nominations open soon for British Council international alumni awards

On Wednesday 3 July, nominations and applications open for the 2019/20 British Council Study UK Awards.

These prestigious awards celebrate alumni from around the world who have used their UK education to make a difference in their professions, communities and countries.

There are three main award categories; Professional Achievement Award, Entrepreneurial Award and Social Impact Award.

New for 2019/20 is the Lifetime Achievement Award, available to alumni living in Azerbaijan and Greece. This category is by nomination only and aims to recognise alumni who have significantly contributed to relations between their country and the UK.

Last year, Loughborough alumnus, Dr Bader Shafaqu Al-Anzi of Kuwait was shortlisted for the coveted Professional Achievement award.

Michael Gordon, Country Director at the British Council in Kuwait said this achievement is “a testament not only to the diversity of UK alumni and their endeavours, but also to the transformative impact of a UK education”.

Loughborough University would be delighted to see international alumni nominated and shortlisted for the Study UK Awards again this year.

All alumni living outside the UK who have graduated from a UK university within the last 15 years are eligible. For full details on participating countries and deadlines, please check the British Council website.
