EY Partner Gagan shares Business insights in Personal Best lecture
Alumnus Gagan Bhatnagar visited campus on Wednesday 16 October to share his story with staff and students at the University.
Gagan is a Banking and Capital Markets Advisory Partner with Ernst and Young (EY), one of the country’s big four accountancy firms.
His role focuses on front-to-back transformation and cost reduction for investment banks and firms.
Students from the School of Business and Economics and beyond were interested to hear about Gagan’s experiences with the global firm, as well as hearing about his journey to make Partner.
The alumnus talked passionately about his career, linking with elements of the University’s Personal Best programme such as setting goals, workplace skills, diversity and mental wellbeing.
To finish, he shared “seven lessons from the business world” with the attendees, which included being strong and focused but remaining kind. He said: “no leader will thank you for trying to make them happy” and “values and integrity are everything”.
Gagan graduated in 1991 with a degree in Computer Studies.
The talk was delivered as part of the Careers Network “Personal Best: My Story” series, where alumni share their career journeys and top tips with students.
Thank you to Gagan for volunteering his time.
