Business achievements of alumni recognised at Loughborough Enterprise Awards

Two alumni were given Outstanding Potential Awards at the University’s biannual Enterprise Awards on 21 May, in recognition of the achievements of the tech companies they launched less than three years ago.

Having benefitted from experiencing first-hand the entrepreneurial ecosystem at MIT, where they participated on an exchange, Alex Nash (Alcuris) and Chris Ruddock (INCUS Performance) started developing their businesses during their final year.

Alex and Chris both graduated in 2016, with a BEng and MEng in Product Design Engineering respectively.

Their potential was recognised through the University’s business idea competition and, having graduated with first-class degrees, they launched their businesses on LUSEP, the University Science and Enterprise Park, in 2016.

With an Innovation Award from Innovate UK initiating their start-up process, to date they have collectively raised in excess of £2 million worth of investment and created 25 highly skilled technical jobs, rising to 32 by the end of this year.

Congratulations to Alex and Chris on their success and we wish them continued success for the future.
