Alumnus Oliver features on BBC Radio 4 podcast
Oliver Sidwell was recently invited to feature on “The Bottom Line” podcast to discuss the importance of internships.
The RMP Enterprise Co-Founder works closely with companies and universities to help students to find the right placement opportunities. Students looking for employment are able to access opportunities through the sister website, RateMyPlacement.
Ollie was invited to be part of the popular BBC business discussion podcast, which hosts discussions “with people at the top giving insight into what matters”, hosted by BBC’s Evan Davies.
Alumnus Ollie was joined by Sarah Churchman OBE, Chief Inclusion & Wellbeing Officer at PwC and student Amalia Illgner. The group discussed the benefits of internships and Ollie was keen to show how forward-thinking employers work with interns to “find pipelines of great talent”.
"With 10 million weekly listeners on Radio 4 it was slightly daunting to be asked to contribute, but it was great to discuss all things internships on such a widely listened-to platform. Meeting Evan Davies was great - he's such a class act! We spoke about what internships are and their benefits for both employers and students.
"Evan referenced our website as the “TripAdvisor for internships” and in the short period of time I had with him, it was clear he understood all the amazing work we're doing to raise the profile of internships and undergraduate employability."
Ollie graduated in 2007 with a degree in Geography and Business Management and is now a member of the Loughborough University Alumni Advisory Board.
