Alumnus becomes UK CEO of ABP Food Group

Bob Carnell has been appointed CEO of Irish meat giant ABP Food Group in their UK division, concluding a 24 year-long career at Kerry Foods.

The alumnus will be leaving his role as Managing Director of Kerry Foods’ consumer brands business in the UK & Ireland to take up the new position. He also worked in a range of other senior managerial roles for the company.

Bob has been attributed to many of the accomplishments of Kerry Foods, including managing the integration of Noon Products into Kerry Foods. ABP said Bob has played a “central role in the successful development of Kerry Foods into a multichannel ­business”.

He said:

“I am delighted and excited to be joining ABP. The UK Grocery industry is going through significant structural change and I look forward to helping ABP continue their success, in one of the most developed and competitive grocery markets in the world.”

Bob graduated from Loughborough in 1990, with a degree in BSc Banking and Finance.
