Alumni share entrepreneurial tips at POW WOW event
On 21 February, two alumni were guest speakers at the bi-monthly “POW WOW” event.
David Stretton-Downes and Claud Williams were inspiring members of the Loughborough business community and student guests with their tips on the theme “work harder or work smarter”.
On an annual basis, POW WOW is organised by Loughborough University students and supported by the Loughborough Enterprise Network and Santander Universities. The event takes place on a bi-monthly basis, and aims to bring together students, staff and the local community for an evening of networking and sharing business advice.
For the event this month, students were keen to work with enterprising alumni.
Claud Williams is the founder of Dream Nation, a 21st century personal development brand. While at Loughborough, Claud launched four different businesses and numerous creative projects which taught him some great lessons about working hard and smart.
David Stretton-Downes laucnched Vidan Lawnes alongside friends after leaving Loughborough. The business is an independent full-service agency that exists to create innovative brands, products, services and campaigns across all mediums. He shared an insight into his creative and entrepreneurial journey post-graduation and stories of his experiences in business.
The guests enjoyed hearing from the speakers, who were keen to share their tips learned from their entrepreneurial experiences.
Claud graduated in 2012 with a degree in Sport Management and David gained a degree in Product Design and Technology in 2010. Thank you to both speakers.
