Alumna strikes with hit PS4 game

Mutazione, a new adventure game released in late September, features the writing and narrative design of alumna Dr Hannah Nicklin.

Hannah, who studied Drama at Loughborough, has developed a story with unpredictable dramatic twists and turns as players explore the community of Mutazione.

The game, developed by Die Gute Fabrik, takes players on a high-stakes adventure with dramatic aspects.

The storyline follows the strike of the “Moon Dragon” meteor over 100 years ago. Surviving characters in the game developed strange mutations and formed the community of Mutazione. Gamers play as Kai, a 15-year-old travelling to the town to help his grandfather.

Hannah’s work is influenced by storytelling in everyday life, and through this she enables players and participants to reflect their lives through gaming and performance.

The alumna also works as a creative producer and artist and gained her Ph.D. in games influenced theatre and theatre influenced games in 2014. She also studied BA Drama at Loughborough and graduated in 2007.
